Food Festivals are Increasing in Popularity in Wales

The Restaurant Show 2012 has announced the newly created Event Caterers Team Challenge (Ecats). The Ecats were created to bring together the greatest private event caterers from throughout the UK. In the delivery of corporate events, weddings, outdoor events, and private events, it pushes them to their boundaries.

On the 8th of October at Earls Court, Ecats will be in partnership with the Craft Guild of Chefs, and this event is expected to fill the competition theatre with excitement. The finalists are made up of groups of 4-5 people from the following institutions:

Ecats was created to honor the outstanding talents of event chefs in the catering industry. These exceptional chefs are frequently ignored because they do not have their own restaurant or hotel from which to display their work. The chefs have been tasked with preparing a full-fledged outside catering event. This event will provide the ideal platform for exceptional chefs to demonstrate their best skills to the rest of the business.

The following is the competition’s brief:

“A partner at a London city legal firm has contacted the catering company about throwing a surprise birthday party for his business partner, who will turn 50 on October 31st.” Because it’s Halloween, he’s decided to make it a black-tie masked Halloween ball, with 120 of their closest friends and business associates invited. The client wants a champagne reception with canapés [two hot and two cold], then a three-course meal with wine, coffee, and Petit Fours. A request for themed tables in keeping with the event has been made.

The client has arranged for the event to be held in a nearby stately home, which does not have any restrictions on which caterers can use the space. The client has also planned for entertainment following the lunch. A budget of around £250 per person has been set down for the event caterer’s fees.”

With the renowned medal at the end, the cooks are sure to show off all of their skills on the day. On finals day, all of the contenders will compete for the coveted award.
